testMET Inc. Joins Emsyst Ltd. to Create a First in the Market
October, 2008 — We are pleased to announce that testMET Inc. (www.testmet.net) has been acquired by Emsyst Ltd. (www.emsyst.com), positioning Emsyst on the market with a global portfolio of products meeting both IEC Standards and ANSI Standards aimed at maintaining the accuracy of revenue metering. testMET Inc., whose name will not be changed, launched the Gold Miner and Silver Miner products in early 2006.
Emsyst Ltd. is a European-based supplier with over 15 years of experience in the field of test equipment, focused in electricity metering, as well as water and heat metering applications. The existing product portfolio of Emsyst includes 3-Phase Energy Standards, portable Analyzer/ Testers, Phantom Loads, multi-position Test Stations, Current Transformer Testers, and other devices. In addition, Emsyst operates its own Metrology Laboratory for official testing of electricity and water meters. The Emsyst Metrology Laboratory is also accredited in accordance with ISO-17025 Standard for calibration of Energy Standards. And, Emsyst maintains its manufacturing and engineering processes certified under ISO-9001, with regular internal and external audits to insure continuous compliance.
For more than a year, testMET and Emsyst have had a strategic technical and manufacturing collaboration, which has led to innovative break-throughs in product development, significantly adding to the existing list of testMET’s product advantages. The new Gold Miner PLUS LOAD is an example of how the two companies have worked together to jointly integrate well-proven technology into an existing testMET product, the Gold Miner, in order to launch a new product with clear market advantages in performance, accuracy, and innovation.
As with any acquisition, the implementation of common systems, procedures and operational improvements takes place during a transition period. In fact, Emsyst has already completed the process of moving testMET operations to a new facility in San Diego, California, where all existing business processes will be maintained, including of course the Metrology Laboratory where all calibration and annual certifications will be performed. Emsyst Ltd. will further bolster operations by implementing systems and procedures to this Metrology Laboaratory, using its existing ISO-17025 Laboratory as a model. testMET continues to maintain an important level of manufacturing content, and, needless to say, the continued ability to perform any necessary repairs is also among the very important activities being executed in our San Diego facility. We definitely recognize the great importance of Customer Support, and investments are being made in this area as well. One immediate action being taken is to implement a dedicated Support Hotline, specifically to provide our existing customers valuable support.
Emsyst will continue the efforts of testMET to increase North American sales through its ANSI products. testMET has established a reputation of innovation with the many “First-to-Market” features and benefits provided through our products to the market. U.S. utilities can expect further new product launches and continuous innovation from testMET.
